The minister called on the G20 nations to leverage their collective wisdom, expertise, and resources to foster a culture of innovation, promote sustainable development, and ensure a prosperous future for all. He urged them to forge ahead with a comprehensive agenda that promotes inclusive, equitable, and sustainable growth.

Singh pointed out that several G20 member states have leading scientists in their national science hierarchy, giving the group the potential to address major global challenges. He cited the collective effort made during the COVID-19 pandemic as an example. He reaffirmed India’s commitment to advancing global research and innovation during its G20 Presidency.

The minister highlighted the remarkable achievements of scientists and researchers across various fields, including space exploration, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and nanotechnology. These advancements have pushed the boundaries of scientific understanding and brought about innovation that benefits all of humanity.

Regarding the challenges of climate change and depleting natural resources, Singh stressed the need to harness renewable energy sources efficiently. He urged G20 members to remain committed to their net zero goals and continue working on sustainable development and renewable energy.

Singh underscored the power of technology and innovation in driving the transition to cleaner energy sources. He urged G20 nations to promote eco-innovations such as smart grids, energy-efficient buildings, and sustainable transportation systems. These initiatives not only mitigate environmental impact but also foster economic growth and job creation.

The minister also highlighted the G20 community’s advanced space technologies that aid in predicting and monitoring natural hazards. He emphasized the need to share these technologies with countries outside the G20 to better prepare them against such calamities.

Singh discussed India’s focus on developing quantum technologies and leveraging them for economic growth and sustainable development. He mentioned the significant contributions made by scientists in genetic research, biotechnology, and personalized medicine, which hold immense potential for improving healthcare outcomes and addressing genetic disorders.

Addressing the rise of fintech ecosystems and rapid digital transformation, Singh stressed the importance of strengthening cybersecurity infrastructure. The minister acknowledged the success of technology-based startups in developing AI solutions across various sectors. The integration of AI and data analytics has improved decision-making processes, enhanced productivity, and fostered innovation in diverse industries.

Singh drew attention to the immense potential of oceans and seas in terms of mineral resources, energy solutions, and marine food. He reiterated the commitment to promoting sustainable practices in fisheries, marine research, coastal tourism, and renewable energy generation. He also expressed concern over the increasing presence of plastics and microplastics in oceans and emphasized the need to address this issue.
