India Reaffirms Anti-Terror Stand

The delegation later called on former Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, now Vice President of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party and Chairman of the Japan-India Association. Suga reiterated Japan’s firm backing for India’s anti-terrorism efforts

In a major diplomatic offensive under Operation Sindoor, an all-party Indian parliamentary delegation led by Janata Dal (United) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha engaged extensively with Japanese leaders, lawmakers, and the diplomatic corps in Tokyo to highlight India’s resolute stance against terrorism and expose Pakistan’s sustained support for cross-border militancy.

At the Indian Embassy in Tokyo, the delegation met with representatives from the Diplomatic Corps, where they reaffirmed India’s national commitment to combat terrorism in all its forms. “Proactive engagement by the All-Party Delegation from India with the Diplomatic Corps in Tokyo… reaffirms India’s unwavering national resolve against terrorism. United in voice, firm in action,” the Indian Embassy posted on X.

The high-level delegation includes BJP MPs Aparajita Sarangi and Brij Lal, Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee, CPI(M) Rajya Sabha member John Barittas, and senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid. Their visit marks the launch of an unprecedented diplomatic outreach to expose Pakistan’s complicity in terrorism following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

On Thursday, the delegation attended the Inaugural Session of Raisina Tokyo 2025, where they joined key Indo-Pacific leaders and strategic experts. The event featured strong messages of solidarity from Japanese officials, underscoring Japan’s continued support for India’s fight against terrorism.

The lawmakers held substantive talks with Takashi Endo, Chairman of Japan’s House of Representatives Committee on National Security. During the meeting, the delegation conveyed India’s unified and uncompromising stance on terrorism. Endo expressed Japan’s solidarity with India, reiterating Tokyo’s commitment to fight terror alongside its strategic partner.

Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya also held a detailed meeting with the Indian delegation. He praised India’s restraint despite provocations and voiced robust support for India’s position. “Reiterated our national resolve to act firmly against terror and those who support it. Grateful for Japan’s support and for calling for justice against perpetrators of such acts,” Sanjay Jha wrote on X following the meeting.

Adding a cultural touch to diplomacy, Jha also felicitated Minister Iwaya in traditional Mithila style.

The delegation later called on former Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, now Vice President of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party and Chairman of the Japan-India Association. Suga reiterated Japan’s firm backing for India’s anti-terrorism efforts.

In addition, the MPs interacted with several Japanese think tanks, briefing them on India’s zero-tolerance policy and presenting compelling evidence of Pakistan’s state sponsorship of terrorist groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM). The briefings drew strong support for India’s regional security policy and its battle against state-sponsored extremism.

“This dialogue strengthens global partnerships rooted in peace, security, and shared democratic values,” Sanjay Jha said on X.

The Indian delegation was warmly received upon arrival in Tokyo by Ambassador Sibi George, who laid out a roadmap for strategic engagement with Japan’s political, diplomatic, and civil society leaders.

The visit marks a significant chapter in India’s evolving global campaign to isolate terror-supporting entities and reinforce a collective international stance against terrorism.
