Adam Brody Teases Season 2 of Nobody Wants This and Reflects on His Award-Winning Role

As fans eagerly await the second season, Brody teased what’s in store for his character. “I think repercussions from [Noah] choosing maybe love over work

Actor Adam Brody, best known for his roles in Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Thank You for Smoking, and Jennifer’s Body, is back in the spotlight, thanks to his captivating performance as Rabbi Noah Roklov in Netflix’s hit romantic comedy, Nobody Wants This. During his appearance on the red carpet at the SAG Awards, Brody shared intriguing hints about his character’s future while also celebrating his recent win at the 2025 Critics Choice Awards.

Brody’s portrayal of Rabbi Noah, an unconventional rabbi caught in an unlikely romance with non-Jewish sex podcast host Joanne (played by Kristen Bell), has resonated deeply with both viewers and critics alike. The series, which premiered earlier this year, quickly gained traction, becoming one of the most-watched Netflix original comedies. It launched at #2 on the platform’s Top 10 and soon reached the #1 spot, accumulating a staggering 26.2 million views in its first 11 days.

As fans eagerly await the second season, Brody teased what’s in store for his character. “I think repercussions from [Noah] choosing maybe love over work. He’s going to grapple with that,” Brody revealed, speaking candidly about what’s ahead for his character. “To be honest with you, that’s about as much as I know,” he added, suggesting that while the storyline’s direction is still unfolding, Noah’s journey of self-discovery and emotional conflict will continue to be central.

Brody’s dedication to his role and the series as a whole has clearly paid off, earning him the Best Actor in a Comedy Series award at the 2025 Critics Choice Awards. His heartfelt acceptance speech was filled with gratitude, particularly for his wife, actress Leighton Meester, with whom he shares a decade-long marriage and two children. “My darling, darling, darling wife Leighton, thank you for sharing this life and this journey with me. Thank you for our family,” Brody said, dedicating his win to her.

In addition to his acknowledgment of Meester, Brody also expressed gratitude to his Nobody Wants This co-star Kristen Bell and the show’s creator, Erin Foster. “Thank you for your talent, thank you for your kindness, thank you for your belief in me,” he said. He even cheekily referred to the win as a “Hanukkah present” for Bell, highlighting their close on-screen chemistry.

Season 2 of Nobody Wants This is set to begin filming soon, with Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan stepping in as showrunners. The new season promises even more heartwarming moments, as the series continues to explore the complexities of love, faith, and identity. Fans can also look forward to seeing Brody’s wife, Leighton Meester, join the cast in the upcoming season.

With a stellar cast and a dynamic storyline, Nobody Wants This is poised for another successful run, and Adam Brody’s continued involvement ensures that the journey will remain just as engaging and unpredictable as ever.
