ERC Readies Winter Aid Shipment for Gaza Strip

The ERC further procures blankets, heaters, and winter gloves to support Palestinian children and families facing significant hardship…reports Asian Lite News

The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has finalised preparations to send a vital shipment of winter clothing to the Gaza Strip, bolstering UAE efforts under the ‘Gallant Knight 3’ humanitarian operation. This timely aid addresses the urgent need for warmth during the region’s harsh winter.

The Authority explained that 400,000 winter jackets, manufactured in Egypt, will be delivered to El Arish for logistical arrangements before entering Gaza.

The ERC further procures blankets, heaters, and winter gloves to support Palestinian children and families facing significant hardship.

By actively monitoring transportation, the ERC aims to swiftly distribute this winter package, easing the suffering of vulnerable populations, particularly children, who comprise nearly half of Gaza’s residents.

DH4M to ‘Tarahum – for Gaza’ Campaign

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the International Charity Organisation (ICO), has presented a checque of AED4 million to Mohammad Omar Al-Shammari, Director of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) centre in Ajman, in support of the “Tarahum- for Gaza” campaign that was launched to assist Palestinians.

Saeed Obaid Al Zaabi, a Member of the Board of Trustees of ICO, Dr Khaled Abdel Wahab Al Khaja, Secretary General of the organisation, and Sultan Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Donation Department at the ERC centre in Ajman were present.

Al Nuaimi said that the ICO continues to receive donations as part of the campaign to contribute to the UAE’s charitable efforts, serving as a model of giving and providing relief for those in need. “Since the launch of ‘Tarahum-for Gaza’, we have established a dedicated team to coordinate the collection of donations. These contributions, ranging from cash donations to essential food and medical supplies for women and children, are received at both our Ajman headquarters and Ras Al Khaimah branch,” he added.

He also extended thanks and appreciation to stakeholders including institutions, companies and donors.

In turn, Al-Shammari extended thanks to ICO’s administration and field teams for their fruitful efforts in support of the campaign, which is one of the most important initiatives to assist the fraternal people of Palestine.
