Ruler of Dubai hails players as role models during palace reception

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, received the players and leadership of Shabab Al Ahli Football Club at Zabeel Palace to celebrate the team’s extraordinary four-title triumph in the 2024–2025 season.

The reception marked a moment of pride for the Dubai-based club, which secured the UAE Pro League title for a record ninth time, along with the UAE President’s Cup, the UAE Super Cup, and the UAE-Qatar Super Cup. Their dominant season has been hailed as one of the most successful in the club’s history.

Sheikh Mohammed extended his personal congratulations to the players, coaching staff, administrators, and board members, praising their resilience and professionalism. He noted that such sporting achievements reflect the UAE’s broader aspirations for excellence, development, and leadership on both regional and global stages.

Shabab Al Ahli Football Club secured the UAE Pro League title for a record ninth time, along with the UAE President’s Cup, the UAE Super Cup, and the UAE-Qatar Super Cup.

“The sports sector is a vital pillar of our national development strategy,” Sheikh Mohammed said. “It not only enhances physical and mental well-being but also nurtures future leaders and role models. Sport instils values such as determination, teamwork, and discipline — all of which are essential to building a confident and ambitious generation.”

His Highness was joined by H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, and H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai. Also present was Khalifa Saeed bin Sulaiman, Deputy Chairman of Shabab Al Ahli’s board.

In his remarks to the players, Sheikh Mohammed commended their collective spirit, saying, “Winning is important, but continuing to win — maintaining top performance and consistency — is the real test. You have set a high standard, and we are proud of how you represent the nation.”

He encouraged the team to sustain their momentum, assuring them of the leadership’s continued support as they prepare for domestic and international competitions. The reception concluded with a commemorative photograph alongside His Highness, symbolising both celebration and aspiration for future victories.

Shabab Al Ahli’s four-trophy season not only adds to the club’s storied legacy but also reflects the UAE’s growing influence in regional football. As the team looks ahead, they carry the hopes of a nation keen to see its champions shine even brighter on the global stage.
