Harnessing AI for Personalised and Preventative Care

G42, a leading AI and digital infrastructure company, has been at the forefront of major health-tech innovations, including the Emirati Genome Program—the world’s largest genomics initiative—and Malaffi, Abu Dhabi’s Health Information Exchange. Its healthcare subsidiary, M42, operates 480 clinics across 26 countries.
“AI’s potential to transform the healthcare industry remains largely untapped,” said Peng Xiao, Group CEO of G42. “From decoding the human genome to improving efficiencies across the patient journey, AI is paving the way for a future where care is more precise, personalised, and preventative. We are excited to collaborate with Cleveland Clinic to unlock new frontiers in medicine and empower clinicians with unprecedented insights.”

Cleveland Clinic, a globally renowned healthcare system with 23 hospitals and 280 outpatient facilities, continues to pioneer medical breakthroughs. In 2024, the institution recorded 15.7 million outpatient encounters, 333,000 hospital admissions, and 320,000 surgeries and procedures worldwide.

“Artificial intelligence offers a tremendous opportunity to improve patient safety, experience, and outcomes,” said Cleveland Clinic CEO and President Tom Mihaljevic, M.D. “This collaboration aligns with our mission of caring for life, researching for health, and educating future healthcare leaders. Together, we aim to transform healthcare through AI-powered solutions that enhance accessibility and efficiency.”

A Global Impact on Healthcare Innovation
Through this partnership, Cleveland Clinic and G42 will explore AI-driven applications in disease prediction, diagnostics, and personalised treatments. The collaboration will also focus on streamlining hospital operations, improving clinical workflows, and advancing AI-powered medical research.

Cleveland Clinic has long been a leader in healthcare innovation, pioneering key medical procedures such as coronary artery bypass surgery, deep brain stimulation for stroke recovery, and the first face transplant in the United States. In 2023, it became the first medical institution in the world to install the IBM Quantum System One for dedicated healthcare research, accelerating biomedical discoveries.
For the seventh consecutive year, Cleveland Clinic was ranked the No. 2 hospital in the world by Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals 2025 list. With its strong track record in medical breakthroughs and G42’s AI expertise, the partnership is expected to redefine global healthcare standards.
