WhatsApp Introduces ‘Chat Theme’ Feature

Along with the new colour themes, WhatsApp is introducing 30 fresh wallpaper options to choose from. However, users can still upload their own custom background from their camera roll, preserving the app’s commitment to flexibility and personalisation

WhatsApp is rolling out an exciting update aimed at giving users more control over the look and feel of their chats. The Meta-owned messaging app has announced the launch of a new “Chat Theme” feature, allowing users to personalise their messaging experience like never before.
In a blog post, WhatsApp revealed that users will now have the ability to change the colours of their chat bubbles and backgrounds, offering a broader selection of hues beyond the traditional green and white. The new colour options include purple, blue, orange, and pink, giving users the flexibility to match their chats with their personal style.
Along with the new colour themes, WhatsApp is introducing 30 fresh wallpaper options to choose from. However, users can still upload their own custom background from their camera roll, preserving the app’s commitment to flexibility and personalisation.
The blog post explains that users can apply the same theme to all of their chats or customise each one individually. WhatsApp added, “Your chat themes are only visible to you,” ensuring that these changes remain private and don’t affect the chats of other users. Additionally, users can also customise the theme of their channels for a more cohesive look across the app.
The new features are already starting to roll out and will be available globally in the coming weeks. WhatsApp’s move to enhance customisation is likely to appeal to users looking for more personalisation options, making their messaging experience feel more unique and enjoyable.
With these updates, WhatsApp continues to build on its reputation as a user-centric app, offering new ways for individuals to make their communication experience truly their own.
