Recipe: DELICIOUS DATES CHOCOLATE CHIP CAKE

A Dates Walnut Dark Chocolate Chip Cake without sugar is a moist and decadent dessert that uses natural sweeteners instead of refined sugar. Here’s a description of this tasty treat:

Ingredients

  1. Dates – 20 (deseeded)
  2. Milk – 1 ½ cup
  3. Baking Soda – 1 tsp
  4. Baking Powder  – ½ tsp
  5. Flour – 1 ¼ cup
  6. Vanilla Essence – 1 tsp
  7. Walnuts – 2 tbsp (chopped)
  8. Dark Chocolate Chips – 2 tbsp
  9. Oil – ½ cup

Method

  1. Preheat the oven at 180 degree celsius for 10 mins..
  2. Sieve the flour, baking powder and baking soda and keep aside.
  3. Boil the milk and soak the dates in it for 10 mins and blend it in a mixer grinder.
  4. Transfer this to a bowl and add in the oil and vanilla essence and give it a mix with a whisk.
  5. Now add in the flour mix. Using a spatula combine it using the cut and fold method
  6. Add in the chopped walnuts and chocolate chips. Make sure that the batter is well mixed and has the right consistency.
  7. Transfer the batter into a loaf tin which is already greased and lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle some chopped walnuts and chocolate chips on top of it and gently tap the loaf tin on the counter to remove any air pockets.
  8. Bake it in the oven at 180 degree celsius for 20 – 25 mins or until the toothpick comes clean,
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool.
