The FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX) returns to Abu Dhabi for the second consecutive year. Taking place on Wednesday, 4th December, 2024, at Etihad Arena, this adrenaline-fuelled, heart-pumping event will showcase the best talent on two wheels, delivering off-road motorcycle racing thrills into the night.

This year, the FIM World Supercross Championship kicks off at BC Place in Vancouver, Canada, for Round 1 on 26th October. Next up, it’s Perth, Australia, for Rounds 2 and 3 with a double-header event at HBF Park on 23-24 November.

Abu Dhabi will host Round 4, the season finale, on 4th December at Etihad Arena, with WSX joining a thrilling week of motorsport action on Yas Island, where the series’ 2024 Champions will be crowned.

After the enthralling 2023 edition, where fans were treated to a remarkable show of skill and excitement, the 2024 season finale promises even more action. With 32 riders vying for two championship titles, a unique track inside Etihad Arena offers a high-octane spectacle to kick off an incredible week of motorsport.

Saif Rashid Al Noaimi, CEO of Ethara, the organisers of Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, commented: “We are thrilled to be bringing the FIM World Supercross Championship back to Yas Island’s Etihad Arena for its exciting season finale. Ethara remains committed to bringing the best events to the region and building destination event propositions, and with this addition to Race Week it continues to support Abu Dhabi’s growing prominence as a premier destination for world-class motorsport entertainment.

‘’For this year, we are offering regional and international motorsport fans the incredible opportunity of witnessing two World Championship finals in one week – with Yas Marina Circuit hosting the Formula 1 season finale just days later, as well as exhilarating entertainment at the Yasalam After-Race Concerts and Gulf 12 Hours endurance race.”

Commenting on Ethara’s continued support for the World Supercross Championship, WSX CEO, Tom Burwell, said, “We’re extremely excited for the WSX Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this December. Yas Island and Abu Dhabi are world-leading destinations for global sport, so to be returning later this year represents yet another key achievement for not just the World Supercross Championship, but for our sport more broadly as we continue to gain a foothold in new markets. With our season finale taking place days before Formula 1’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, sports fans are looking at what will be a truly incredible and unforgettable week of World Championship-level action.”
