Another fashion week day came to a close with its fair number of interesting designs, drama, and detailing. Several Bollywood stars were spotted on the runway, but only a few of them were truly show-stopping. Parineeti Chopra, who recently tied the knot walked for Jaipur-based label Faabiiana in an embroidered pearly-white sari. Better styling and a more suitable outfit would’ve done her good. Another one to disappoint was Tamannah Bhatia who looked visibly uncomfortable in a lavishly embellished lehenga by Vani Vats. It was either the weight of the garment or the fit that didn’t work in her favour.

As the day progressed, more and more of celebrities graced the runway. Designer Mahima Mahajan roped in Tara Sutaria as her showstopper and Rakul Preet Singh walked for Bhumika Sharma. While Mahajan’s festive collection focussed on tropical motifs and bright hues, Sharma opted for subtle silhouettes and delicate detailing.

The ‘OG’ Malaika Arora took to the runway for 431-88 by Shweta Kapur. Arora demonstrated for the rest how it’s done as she strutted down the runway in a striped beige power suit. The standout pieces in Kapur’s collection were the structured oversized blazers, tailored coats and asymmetrical dresses.

Label Tasva, a collaboration between designer Tarun Tahiliani and the Aditya Birla Group also showcased festive wear for men that consisted of sherwanis, kurtas and jackets. Actor Vijay Vijay closed the show in a white and gold brocade ensemble.

Husband-wife duo Falguni Shane Peacock presented their collection inspired by street culture. The dark tones, metallics and oversized fits added to the young, edgy and chic vibe. Actress Kiara Advani walked for them and looked stunning. The hair, make-up and styling were all in-sync.

The day ended with fashion’s favourite Péro, which never fails to impress with its quirky play of prints, patterns and colours. Founded by Aneeth Arora, the brand presented plenty of layering, big and small florals and stripes, laser-cut fabrics – all thoughtfully composed together. The live visuals, dramatic music and unique table-setting were some major winning elements.
