World Defence Show in Riyadh discusses Vision 2030, Innovation

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has inaugurated the first edition of the World Defence Show 2022, in Riyadh on Sunday…reports Asian Lite News

Prince Salman has toured the exhibition’s facilities, which witnessed the participation of more than 590 companies from around the world representing 42 countries, in addition to the participation and attendance of a number of national government agencies operating in the defence and security sector and other sectors related to the military and defence industries sector, which included many equipment miscellaneous militaries.

The Crown Prince was briefed on the virtual command and control center, equipped with the latest systems and technologies that simulate the future of command and control centers produced by major international defence companies.

He was accompanied during the opening ceremony by Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior; Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Minister of National Guard; and Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Minister of Defense.

The event lasts until 9 March.

The first day of the event has witnessed a program of various seminars, attracting several senior defence leaders from the industrial sector, academia, and government, to discuss a variety of topics, including Saudi Vision 2030, technology, innovation, and skills needed to determine the future of defence, and the drivers of the economy, politics and various strategies that will shape defence global future.

The discussions included key participants such as the CEO of the Saudi Military Industries Company, Engineer Walid Abu Khaled, the President of King Fahd University, Dr. Mohammad Al-Saqqaf, and several civil and military figures, who highlighted key topics in the military and defence, while senior officials from major global companies including BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Boeing, and L3Harris Technologies made keynote speeches during their participation in the various sessions.

The Intellectual Leadership Program is a major contributor to the World Defence Show, consolidating the position of this global event as one of the most important events in international defence.
