Gargash meets UK-UAE All-Party Parliamentary Group delegation

Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to the UAE President, met with a delegation from the UK-UAE All-Party Parliamentary Group, chaired by David Jones, which is currently visiting the country…reports Asian Lite News

The meeting addressed the bilateral ties between the UAE and the United Kingdom (UK) and ways of boosting them to new levels of cooperation.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed issues of mutual concern, most notably those related to the region’s stability and the efforts to achieve regional and international peace.

Dr. Gargash highlighted the UAE’s keenness to enhance the overall cooperation between the two countries, lauded the role of the UK in supporting the region’s stability, and commended its condemnation of the Houthi terrorist attacks against the UAE.

Dr. Gargash and the delegation also discussed the progress achieved by the UAE in many areas, including in women’s and youth empowerment.

The delegation’s members highlighted their appreciation for the UAE and its support for the efforts to achieve peace, stability and prosperity in the region.

Earlier, UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan had received the delegation at the headquarters of Expo 2020 Dubai.

The parties also addressed the organisation of Expo 2020 Dubai, highlighting the importance of this global event in promoting international cooperation and building fruitful partnerships between the participating countries.

They also reviewed the key role of parliaments in supporting peoples’ aspirations for prosperity and development and working to spread the values of tolerance, coexistence and human brotherhood.

Sheikh Abdullah welcomed the delegation’s visit, stressing the solid historical and strategic relations between the UAE and the United Kingdom and keenness to develop them in all fields further.

He pointed out that the UAE’s organisation of Expo 2020 Dubai embodies the country’s approach to strengthen relations with countries of the world and work to spread the values of tolerance and coexistence among peoples.

For their part, members of the UK-UAE All-Party Parliamentary Group commended the friendship and strategic partnership between the UAE and the United Kingdom, praising the successful and distinguished organisation of Expo 2020 Dubai.

The meeting was attended by Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director-General of Expo 2020 Dubai, and Mansour Abdullah Khalfan Belhoul, UAE Ambassador to the United Kingdom.
