UAE, Bahrain Cement Ties

UAE Prime Minister and Bahrain King discussed regional and international developments, the efforts made in the UAE and Bahrain to accelerate development in the COVID-19 era…reports Asian Lite News

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, on Thursday met with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain at his residence in Abu Dhabi.

The meeting was attended by Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth; and Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of Bahrain’s Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee.

The meeting discussed ways to boost ties between the UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain in various spheres of life and identify new opportunities for cooperation that will bring benefits to the people of the two countries. Both sides hailed the strong bilateral cooperation that currently exists between the two nations.

The meeting also discussed regional and international developments, the progress made in combating the pandemic and the efforts made in the UAE and Bahrain to accelerate development in the COVID-19 era.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the common stance of the two countries on various regional and international issues and the importance of boosting collaboration between GCC nations and streamlining efforts to promote security and stability across the region and enhance the prosperity of the people.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain reviewed prospects of further promoting the fraternal and longstanding relations between the two nations.

This came as the two leaders met at King Hamad’s residence in Abu Dhabi where they discussed a number of issues of interest to the GCC states and exchanged views over the latest regional and international developments.

The two sides reaffirmed their determination to bolster the deeply rooted bonds between the two peoples and to take the level of cooperation and coordination to new heights.

Attending the meeting were Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman at Abu Dhabi Airports Co.

From the Bahraini side, Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs along with other senior Bahraini officials attended the meeting.
